Ilene was born in Montrose, Colorado, on January 15, 1948. After attending Ft. Lewis College in Durango and working for Sherman and Edna Cranor at their Taylor Park Trading Post, she became fascinated with Taylor Park. She decided to remain there primarily with Bruce as her life partner, although they occasionally returned home. Taylor Park became their center.

She was an extraordinary artist who found great pleasure in painting. With an adventurous spirit and travel bug at heart, she experienced Europe, Israel, and Mexico with family and friends before returning home to be with them and her loved ones. She will be greatly missed.

She inspired all those she met, showing great affection towards her family in everything she did and accepting death without fear or regret. While she will be missed greatly by many, her legacy lives on through the loving children and grandchildren she created.
